WILD THINGS
Our SM/FA ‘08 Wild Things series was supposed to coincide with the release of the movie, but unfortunately it didn’t quite work out that way. The movie has finally been set for release on October 18, and the first trailer is now available here. (with apple but watch it on Hekka now playing the youtube-window over this text> If you got any of the first shoes, hang on to them as they are sure to be collectors when the movie comes out (first WT merchandise released) and look for a possible follow up release in October as well.

ANDREAS WIIG IN ASPEN.
Matix got back from a long two weeks of planes, trains, shuttles, sleigh rides, and taxis. Our first stop was to Aspen for the Winter X Games. Andreas Wiig was in full force, he competed in the Big Air and in the Slope style event. Andreas went up against Torstien in the Big Air and was judged by a text vote from the viewers on TV. This type of voting is complete hogwash, if you were standing there in real life, then you would know Andreas should have advanced with a double cork 1080 and a Switch Backside 1260. In the end Torstien would advance to the final and Travis Rice would take the Gold. Here are some pics...

When Lakai Co. starting advertising ‘The Final Flare’, they were a few months away from having the finished product completed. Once everything was edited and it came production time, we found ourselves facing a bit of a disk space dilemma. We had two options. One, keep all the advertised bonus features on disk 2 at a substantially reduced compression rate (meaning reduced quality) or two, remove one bonus feature and keep a higher compression. As some of you realized (and duly noted), we went with option 2, choosing to remove the “Slow Motion to Regular Motion” feature. For those of you unnerved by this omission, please accept this free podcast- and subsequent promotion for the newly launched Girl Films iTunes page- as our official apology. Thanks always for your support.
